K&V CODE OF CONDUCT AT EISTEDDFODS

Please see below for some important things that we would like you to remember and abide by when representing K&V either in the studio or at any outside event / competition.

1. Be a good sport
By this we mean always be friendly and encouraging to other dancers – not only your friends from K&V but those from other studios too.  A small token of ‘Good Luck’ or ‘Congratulations’ goes a long way.  Eisteddfods are a great way to make lots of new friends, so always be nice and friendly.

2. Be respectful of others
In the studio. Outside the studio. At competitions. Remember to say please and thank you to your teachers, staff at competitions, etc. Hold the door. Be quiet backstage. Don’t enter and exit whilst a dancer is on stage. Don’t talk during anyone’s performance. You represent not only K&V, but also yourself and your parents. Have good manners, and always be respectful.

3. Practice makes perfect
As a soloist there is an expectation for you to be committed to daily/weekly practice.  Your teacher will always video your lesson for practice at home.  It is very frustrating for teachers when students return the following lesson and have not practiced or they have forgotten their choreography.

 4. Dress for Success
Always ensure that you represent K&V with pride. All soloists are required to be dressed in  the correct K&V ‘Performance’ uniform.  If you are lucky enough to receive an award and are presented on stage please ensure you are dressed in your K&V Performance uniform for all presentations.

5. Social Media
Please post your results on your Instagram page and tag K&V as well as each of the teachers that have helped you.
